Born on 1978, Salma first studied Cartoon Animation only to discover in 2004 her true cinematic passion which is documentaries. In that year, she made her first short documentary Do You Know Why? that won a prize at the Rotterdam Arabic Film Festival. In 2008, she made her first commissioned documentary for Al Jazeera TV. Her other works include; Suicidal Notions 2016 and Underground/On The Surface.
