Born in Meknes, Morocco in 1971, Besri studied physics and chemistry at the University of Rabat. He then completed a bachelors in computer science and worked in finance and teaching before moving on to filmmaking. Before releasing his first feature film, LES MÉCRÉANTS, he wrote several screenplays and helmed two short films.
