Highlights
The film provides a close-up view into a woman’s artistic career that has spanned over half a century.
The Iran Heritage Foundation (IHF) supported the production of the documentary.
This documentary looks at the life and work of the Iranian artist Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian. Monir created an artistic language that was informed by traditional Iranian craft and architecture; formative years spent in New York in the 1940s and 50s and ongoing conversations with some of the 20th century’s most experimental artists were also part of Monir´s artistic universe.

“The 54-minute film is built on interviews with those who have been closest to her work, archival interview footage, and conversations with Monir as she works on her latest projects. The result is a freewheeling, non-chronological exploration of her life and career.” Hyperallergic - Bridey Heing
“It offers an inspiring chronicle of Monir at the peak of her career.” Institute of Contemporary Arts
