18/11 Joins Palestinian Refugees Film Festival in Palestine

The short film 18/11, by director Medhat Maged will be screened at the 3rd edition of the Palestinian Refugees Film Festival, which will be held in Palestine from September 23rd to September 25th. The festival, which is the first international film festival for short films to be held in Occupied Palestine, highlights films that tackle refugee issues. The opening ceremony will be held at Putin Foundation for Culture and Economics in Bethlehem.
 
18/11 landed its world premiere at African Film Festival Atlanta and nabbed two awards during the 6th edition of One Earth Awards. The awards are Gold Award for Best Student Film, and Silver Award for Best Short Film- Fiction. It was also screened at Visions Cairo Egyptian Short Film Festival, Amman International Film Festival, Cairo Shorts Film Festival, and International Short and Independent Film Festival in Bangladesh. 
 
The film follows a story of a woman with sleepwalking disorder who was accused of murdering her unfaithful husband. Did she kill him while sleeping or was she conscious? The young servant is the one person who can help solve this case as she was the only witness.
 
Directed by Medhat Maged and written by Mohamed Abdallah, 18/11 stars Gehan Anwar, Lama Kutkut, Ali Shawki, and Kareem Sorour. MAD Solutions handles the film’s marketing and distribution.
 
Medhat Maged is a young Egyptian filmmaker who graduated from the Faculty of Engineering then studied at the Higher Institute of Cinema. He has worked as an assistant director in several commercial projects.
