22 November 2023
Hussen Ibraheem’s fiction film MANITY is set to hold its Arab world premiere at the third edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival, which will run from November 30th to December 9th, where it will compete in the festival’s short film competition.

MANITY will be screened twice at the Red Sea Mall throughout the festival’s runtime, with the first taking place on Tuesday, December 5th at 4:55 pm at Red Sea VOX Cinema 4, and the second on Wednesday, December 6th at 9:40 pm at VOX Cinema 1.

Both screenings will feature an introduction by the film's director, Hussen Ibraheem, who will be in attendance along with the film's producer, Tania El-Khoury.

For those interested in a glimpse of what you can expect from this emotional experience, the film’s trailer was recently

Written and Directed by Hussen Ibraheem, MANITY stars Jade Breidi, Hadi Jibbawi, and Charbel Kamel. Meanwhile, MAD Solutions is managing the movie's distribution in the Arab world.

The film held its world premiere at the Côté Court Festival in France and featured at prestigious festivals such as the Drama International Short Film Festival in Greece, Lucas - International Festival of Films for Children and Young People in Germany, Kuki Film Festival in Germany, and Izmir International Film Festival in Turkey.

The movie follows Firas — an 11-year-old boy — who accompanies his father Tayseer and his father's friend Rayan on a bird-hunting jaunt in the Lebanese mountainside. What is supposed to be a calm hunting trip turns into an unforgettable experience.

After graduating with a BA in architecture, Hussen Ibraheem decided to follow his passion for cinema.

He studied at the Red Sea Institute for Cinematic Arts — a branch of the University of Southern California in Jordan — and graduated with a master's.

His work deals with questions of life and death, strained human relationships, and absurd bureaucratic practices.

Ibraheem is currently working on his first feature film TIDE.
