23 November 2023:

Hicham Lasri's highly anticipated satirical dark comedy MOROCCAN BADASS GIRL is set to hold its world premiere at the prestigious Marrakech International Film Festival, which will run from November 24th to December 2nd.
The film will screen in the festival’s Panorama of Moroccan Cinema Section on Friday, December 1st at 9 pm in the presence of Lasri and the film's cast, including Fadoua Taleb, Salah Bensalah, Malek Akhmiss, and Lamrani Karam.
Following the screening, a Q&A session will provide an opportunity to delve deeper into the captivating world of this remarkable feature and gain insights into its cinematic brilliance.
MOROCCAN BADASS GIRL follows Cathy as she approaches her 30th birthday. However, she is confronted with the harsh realities of her life. Her parents, fiancé, boss, and society have all treated her poorly, leading to a series of unfortunate events that unfold on what turns out to be the worst day of her life.
Set against the backdrop of a sardonic Casablanca, Cathy finds herself in a dark and twisted comedy that will shape her future. Determined to start anew, she embarks on a journey to immigrate abroad, only to encounter unexpected obstacles along the way.
Written and directed by Hicham Lasri, MOROCCAN BADASS GIRL stars Fadoua Taleb, Salah Bensalah, Malek Akhmiss, and Karam Lamrani. Meanwhile, MAD Solutions is managing the film’s distribution worldwide.
Previously, the movie received funding from the Carthage and Malmö film festivals as part of a workshop conducted during the El Gouna film festival.
