Mais Darwazah

Jordan-based filmmaker Mais Darwazah worked across the Arab world in architecture, graphic design and television documentaries.
Her independent film career started when she worked on a number of short experimental films.
After finishing her undergraduate degree in Interior Architecture from Kingston University in the UK in 1997, she received the Chevening scholarship from the British Council, completing an MA in Documentary Directing at the Edinburgh College of Art in 2007.
Her graduation film TAKE ME HOME (2008) was screened at more than 20 international film festivals.
As part of an Arab feature documentary collective titled ‘FAMILY ALBUM,’ Darwazah completed THE DINNER (2012), which was co-produced with Arte France and received the Special Mention Audience Award at the Cinemed in 2012.
MY LOVE AWAITS ME BY THE SEA is her first feature-length documentary that participated in several development workshops, including the Berlinale Talents Campus DocStation.
