Yahya Alabdallah is a Palestinian-Jordanian writer, director, producer and literary critic who was born in Libya and raised in Saudi Arabia. He holds Master’s degrees in literature and film from ECAIR Cinema School in Paris. He wrote and directed many shorts and documentaries, including the shorts SMS (2008) and 5th Floor Room 52 (2015) and the documentaries Friday Off (2013) and The Council (2014). His first feature The Last Friday (2011) received numerous awards and nominations at international festivals, including the Special Jury Award at the Fribourg International Film Festival 2012 and the Muhr Arab Award at the Dubai International Film Festival 2011. He is currently working on his second comedy feature film Me, Myself & Murdoch.
