A Danish writer and director of Palestinian descent, Mahdi Fleifel completed his studies at the National Film and Television School in London in 2009. His remarkable documentaries and shorts helped in establishing his name in the festival circuit. His credits include films such as the critically acclaimed A World Not Ours (2012) — which received more than 30 international awards — Xenos (2014), and A Man Returned (2016), which was nominated for a European Film Award and received the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival in 2016. Fleifel's films have been nominated for 95 film awards internationally and won over 50 so far, and the number keeps on growing.
