Youssef Hesham
Youssef Hesham is an Egyptian filmmaker, film expert, consultant, script doctor, festival programer, and a university lecturer with almost 20 years of experience.
He has directed many short films, documentaries, and a feature, all of which got him several awards.
In 2017, he won the Fulbright scholarship, with which he earned his MFA degree in Film and Media Arts from Emerson College, Boston.
His thesis film THE NEW TENANT — which he shot in Boston — earned him the prestigious President’s Award.
Previously, Hesham worked on the programs of festivals like the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) and Ismailia International Film Festival.
He was also a competition manager for the Realtime Competition in the Egyptian edition of the Shnit World Film Festival in 2016 & 2017.
Moreover, he worked as a regional programmer at the CIFF between 2020 and 2021 alongside teaching scriptwriting and supervising graduation projects for the British University in Egypt.
