Roschdy Zem
Roschdy Zem is a French actor and director who was born in Gennevilliers, France, in 1965. He made his acting debut in André Téchiné's J'EMBRASSE PAS in 1991 and received the Best Actor Award at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival for his role in Rachid Bouchareb's DAYS OF GLORY.
He then began his directing career with MAUVAISE FOI, eventually making OMAR M'A TUER in 2011, BODYBUILDER in 2014, and CHOCOLAT (2016), which sold about 2m tickets in France.
In 2019, Zem received the César Award for Best Actor for his performance in Arnaud Desplechin's ROUBAIX, UNE LUMIÈRE. In the same year, he made his fifth film as a director — PERSONA NON GRATA.
