May Ziady
Ziady graduated from the Faculty of Mass Communication of Cairo University in 2008. She kicked off her career as a journalist at Al-Shorouk newspaper, she also worked as a scriptwriter and assistant director.
In 2017, Ziady also graduated from the French University of Egypt with a diploma in cinema and television.
Her debut short film was EGGS WITH PASTRAMI, which was screened at the Luxor African Film Festival's Students Competition in 2018. Moreover, she worked as an assistant director in several films, including the fiction short DARK CHOCOLATE — which was screened at the Cairo International Film Festival in 2018 — Ahmed Ghanem’s A DAY IN CAIRO, and was an assistant director’s trainee in Ahmad Abdalla’s NIGHT/EXTERIOR, which is available on Netflix.
As a scriptwriter, she wrote the fiction short TWO LEMON MINTS screenplay. She also participated in the writing workshops of Synergy’s TV series WITHOUT EVIDENCE and the feature film THE BACK ROW, which will be screened in 2023.
