Hiba Dhaouadi
Hiba Dhaouadi, born in Bizerte, Tunisia, began composing her first song and writing her first feature film at the age of 12. Since then, she has been dedicated to pursuing her path as a filmmaker.
She attended the Higher Institute of Multimedia Arts in Tunis, earning her bachelor's degree in writing and directing in 2010 and her master's degree in production and assistant directing in 2014.
Her first documentary film, GIRLS OF THE MOON, won several grants and participated in a number of workshops before premiering in 2018 at the Carthage Film Days and going on to win numerous awards at other festivals, including Best Documentary at the Tunisian Cinema Festival and Best Debut Feature at the Alexandria International Film Festival.
Her filmography also includes a tribute documentary for the great Tunisian actor, Hicham Rostom, titled REMEMBERING HICHAM ROSTOM, and two short films — RÊVE BRISÉ in 2010 and NEW LOOK in 2010.
As for her upcoming works, she has a feature-length documentary called TAKMORT set to be released in 2023, a long documentary in post-production, and a fiction short film, AUCUN NUMÉRO, scheduled for release in 2023 as well.
