Taqwa Ali Naser
Taqwa Ali Naser is a Bahraini filmmaker and scriptwriter with a BA in cinematic arts from Malaysia.
Since 2016, Taqwa has explored working in various aspects of filmmaking, but she ultimately found herself in screenwriting and directing.
Besides her films, Taqwa ventured into television with the writing of a miniseries called AL-HANAYA - Development Stage 2021. She also participated in the development of another miniseries titled THE CROW NEST and wrote the docudrama feature A PALMTREE IN MUTTRAH under the supervision of Sultan Qaboos University.
Additionally, she participated in many scriptwriting workshops across the globe, including the Red Sea Lodge, Torino Film Lab, and MEMI Summer Program in LA.
Her credits include nine short films that have toured many festivals, winning awards, including WINGS OF THE DAWN, THE SHOES THAT GET SMALLER EVERY NIGHT, and SCAPEGOAT, which won two prizes for funding from the Red Sea Film Festival’s Red Sea Souk.
She also directed a short film for Bahrain's National TV called LOST PERSON NEVER STOPS SEARCHING.
