Jonathan Ali Khan

Jonathan Ali Khan's (JAK) true passion lies in the world of natural history and underwater filming. After the Gulf War and the liberation of Kuwait, JAK spent seven years filming the status of the marine life in the seas of Arabia through a non-profit project called "The Arabian Seas Expedition."
JAK's first films were co-produced with London-based OR Media and aired on the National Geographic Channel in 1997.

Since then, JAK has led many joint filming and scientific expeditions exploring Arabia’s land and seas, in some cases, allowing researchers into troubled or difficult areas to access for the first time.
His filmography includes the 12-episode documentary series Arabia’s CYCLE OF LIFE, which focuses on Arabia’s mountains, deserts, and seas, and aired to over 50 million viewers on AlArabiya News Channel and Showtime. It is also the first regional production ever to have been picked up by Discovery Channel for Animal Planet.
Among his other documentaries is the 2-film TV documentary SHARKQUEST ARABIA, which was awarded the largest ever “Media and the Environment Award” grant from the Emirates Foundation for Philanthropy.
JAK's work also includes "Arabia's Sharks - A Voyage of Discovery," which aired on Discovery Channel's Shark Week Arabia.
Leaving behind an impressive repertoire that will always be remembered by current and future generations, director Khan sadly left our world in Jan 2020.
