Christy Cauper Silvano is a Shipibo filmmaker and cultural practitioner living in Cantagallo, Lima, Peru. Her artistic and community work revolves around promoting and spreading her culture and helping young people value their language, traditions, dances and songs. Her first feature-length film, Only the Ocean Between Us, supported by the Sundance Institute and Creative Capital, had its world premiere at Hot Docs 2021.  Currently, she is a workshop leader for Mi Primer Festival, an international film and new media festival for children and teens, and a member of Alharaca Films community.
