Ryan Al-Abbas is a Syrian director and screenwriter who was born and raised in the United Arab Emirates. He developed a passion for cinema from a young age and turned this passion into a professional career, using cinema as a platform for his artistic expression.
Rayan began his directing career by participating in numerous short films, which were showcased at significant film festivals such as the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, Tropfest Arabia, waaiaward Film Festival, and many other festivals, where his talents and innovation stood out in this field. He also directed the program "Selfie" on Dubai Sports Channel for two seasons, which won a Silver Award at the Gulf Radio and Television Festival in the sports program category, paving the way for his entry into the world of feature films.
Rayan Alabbas achieved significant success in the realm of short films, winning first place in the "Audience's Oscar" award for short films in the Arab world for his short film "Wallpaper," which he wrote and directed himself, confirming his talent and ability to capture attention and make an impact through distinctive short stories.
Rayan's talents extend beyond short films into the realm of feature-length narratives. He participated as a writer and assistant director in his first feature film, "match," which achieved great success in cinemas and featured notable Emirati actors.
His second feature film, "The Last Chance," represents Rayan AlAbbas's continued exploration into the realm of feature-length narratives. It stands as his directorial debut alongside Obaid AlHamoudi, highlighting his eagerness to delve into new territories and engage in collaborative efforts with other talents within the film industry.
