Eliane Raheb
Eliane Raheb is a documentary filmmaker and director from Lebanon. She made her debut as a director with her 2012 film, Layali Bala Noom (Sleepless Nights). Eliane is the director of several award-winning short films and documentaries, including Miguel’s War (2021), which won the Teddy Award for best feature film at the 2021 Berlinale, Those Who Remain (2016), which was among 30 films awarded les Étoiles de la Scam in 2019, and Sleepless Nights (2012)
She is a founding member of Beirut DC (since renamed AFLAMUNA), a cultural association that supports and promotes the work of independent filmmakers in Lebanon. Under the Beirut DC umbrella, Raheb ran several documentary workshops and acted as the artistic director for six editions of the Ayam Beirut Al Cinema'iya (Beirut Cinema Days). Currently, she programs films for ALFAMUNA’s online film program and serves as the artistic director of the Rural Encounters on Environment and Films — REEF festival, which she co-founded in 2019.
