Mohammed Hammad is an Egyptian writer and director renowned for his compelling storytelling and distinct cinematic vision. A graduate of Helwan University with a degree in Mass Communication, Hammad began his filmmaking journey with the short film THE FIFTH POUND in 2006.
His body of work spans short films, documentaries, and feature films, with notable projects such as CALL CENTER, PALE RED, and his feature debut WITHERED GREEN.
Withered Green received significant international attention, screening at prestigious festivals like the Locarno Film Festival, where it earned multiple nominations, including the Golden Leopard. The film garnered further recognition, winning prestigious awards like the Muhr Award for Best Director at the Dubai International Film Festival and the Golden Palm Award at the First Youth Film Festival.
