Alia Haju

Alia Haju is a filmmaker and musician based between Brooklyn and Beirut. She grew up in South Lebanon until 1994, when she fled to the UAE during the Israeli war on Lebanon, eventually settling in the US.
In 2005, Alia returned to Lebanon to earn a BFA in Concept Art from the American University of Beirut. She then pursued a career as a photographer and photo editor, documenting the SWANA region and the Syrian war, and worked as a freelance investigative video journalist for various international media organizations.
Alia has contributed to numerous Lebanese film sets and directed the award-winning short anima/doc SHIP OF FOOLS. She is also a co-writer of the acclaimed feature documentary KASHKASH.
