Lotfi Bouchouchi
Born in Algiers to a family of filmmakers, Lotfi Bouchouchi is an Algerian director and producer. He graduated from the School of Cinema and Audiovisual (ESEC) in Paris. In the early 90s, he made his first foray into filmmaking as a first assistant director to directors Merzak Allouache and Mohamed Chouikh. He worked as a production manager for the Algerian national television, covering news for foreign channels and news agencies including TF1, France 24 and APTN. He produced and co-produced many films, including: Viva Algeria (2004), Barakat! (2006), I'm Dead (2014) and Timgad (2016). The Well is Bouchouchi’s directorial debut for which he won many Best Director awards.
