Firas Khoury's ALAM to feature at Cairo Int’l Film Festival

Firas Khoury's feature film ALAM will be screening at the 44th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), which will run from November 13 to November 22nd, where it will be competing for the Silver Pyramid Award and the Best Arab Film Award.
 
ALAM will have three screenings at the festival; the first will take place on Friday, November 18th at 9:15 pm in the Cairo Opera House's Grand Hall, followed by the second on Saturday, November 19th at 7:30 pm at the Fountain Theater, and the third on Sunday, November 20th at 6:00 pm at the Tahrir Cultural Center.
 
Written and directed by Firas Khoury, ALAM stars Mahmood Bakri, Sereen Khass, Saleh Bakri, Mohammad Karaki, Ahmad Zaghmouri, and Muhammad Abed Elrahman
 
Set to hold its Arab world premiere at the festival’s International Competition, ALAM follows the story of a Palestinian teenager named Tamer.
 
Tamer and his friends lead typical teenage lives until one day, he is swept off his feet by the arrival of the beautiful Maysaa. As he grows closer to her, Tamer agrees to take part in a mysterious and life-changing operation dubbed ‘Alam.’
 
ALAM is co-distributed by MAD Solutions and Lagoonie Film Production across the Arab world.
 
ALAM held its world premiere at the 47th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival’s Contemporary World Cinema category. It was then featured at the Rome Film Festival
