Marie Surae’s I AM NOT LAKIT to screen at Hollywood Arab Film Festival

Marie Surae’s documentary I’M NOT LAKIT will screen on April 27th at 11:30 am as part of the Official Competition for the Documentary Feature Films Category of the second edition of the Hollywood Arab Film Festival, which will run from April 26th to the 29th. 
 
The screening will be held at Universal AMC Cinema at Citywalk Hollywood Theater 13. 
 
The film follows Saleh — an abandoned child with no access to basic human rights — who wanders the streets of Lebanon in search of evidence of his existence.
 
Previously, I AM NOT LAKIT world premiered at the Beirut International Women’s Film Festival and screened at a number of local and international film festivals like the Lebanese Film Festival, Radiant Angel International Film Festival, and Golden Apricot International Film Festival in Armenia. The film also received support from FEST - New Directors in 2021.
 
Maria Surae is a film director, screenwriter, and producer with over 16 years of experience. She is the CEO of Scoop Production and a graduate of Moscow State University's Faculty of Journalism.
 
Her filmography includes over 100 award-winning documentaries that have won awards at prestigious international film festivals, including THE LAST ONE, SONUNCU, MUHAMAD, FLEEING THE WAR, and VILLAGE. The seasoned filmmaker also released her debut feature film THE ANGER in 2021.
